The
spiritual work of Padrinho Sebastião Mota Melo was initially registered in the year of
1974 under the name of CEFLURIS - Ecletical Center of the Universal Flowing Light
Raimundo Irineu Serra. Starting from 1983 it fell to Alex Polari and other collaborators
to improve the institutional efforts in documenting the works and activities already
accomplished by this time in the centers around Brazil. The task has been worked out till
today, when the Santo Daime's spiritual movement finally reaches a status of a Brazilian
religion. The challenge today is to institutionally tune the eco-socio-spiritual
activities of this movement that congregates the christian and shamanic consciousness in a
concrete action of its people in terms of commune spiritual ecology.
